Alton Brown Shows Us How To Make A Perfect Cup of Coffee

Alton Brown, one of my favorite hosts from the Food Network shares with us his secret for making the perfect cup of coffee with a standard drip coffee maker.  He has eight tips that will take your lack luster coffee and make it spectacular.

Easy to do too!

  1. Buy whole coffee beans, not ground. Store them in an air tight container.
  2. Use a Burr Grinder
  3. Use filtered water
  4. Ditch the coffee filter that comes with your pot and use unbleached coffee filters
  5. Measure 2 tablespoons per cup of coffee being made & 6 ounces of water per cup
  6. Add 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt - this will take the bitterness away
  7. Wait until the whole pot is brewed before enjoying your first cup
Can't you smell that lovely aroma already?
